“Why I Started GLOW”

“I knew the sport was growing. I saw this wave of four- and five-year-olds coming at me — so many of them — and they just needed instruction. I felt compelled to do it.”

“They don't have an insecurity in the world. They don't have Instagram. They're there because they love it and want to get better. That's why we want to reach them this young, before they come with reservations.”

“This game is hard to learn. No one is exempt from the basics. At GLOW, we teach them that mistakes don't mean you're bad at lacrosse. It's hard for everybody — beginners and greats. Just ask Charlotte North.”

“But once it comes together, once they're whipping the ball up and down the field, every freezing, rainy spring practice is worth it.”

“My job is to get girls to a place where they feel really good about their game. Before they start to second-guess themselves — so they never have to.”

Our Philosophy — The Pressure Gap:

“They're starting earlier, so they're competing earlier. And the pressure isn't coming from the clubs — it's coming from inside. Girls want to be excellent, and that's a beautiful thing. But making a team can start to feel like everything.”

“I don't blame the clubs. I've been in their shoes. I think we just have to get more creative, because balance is everything.”

“Here's the irony: playing too much lacrosse can mean not playing enough of the other things that would actually make you better at it. The best players in the world talk about the other sports they played. Most of the best girls on any team are two-sport athletes.”

“Your club team will always be there. They have a high bar — as they should. But there are ways to reach it, and it doesn't have to take over your whole life.”

“Our mission is to give you both. Come play with us. Stay sharp. Never feel like you're falling behind — and never carry the guilt of choosing another sport.”

“Balance is the key to longevity. Everyone talks about the multi-sport athlete. I decided to do my small part: create the option, and make it fun.”

“You can be excellent and still go to your hockey game.”
